   Jim Witz new service chief at Sunshine Ford in Newburgh
   Sunshine Ford Lincoln Mercury of Newburgh has named Jim Witz its new service manager. Witz brings 47 years of service experience, including 10 years experience with Ford.

   SUNY New Paltz professor receives psychology award
   Dr. Howard Cohen, professor emeritus at SUNY New Paltz, recently received an award for "distinguished service and contributions" from the American Board of Professional Psychology. Cohen is a former chair of the department of psychology at SUNY New Paltz.
   
   Middletown
   Michael McGrath is new hire at N.A.S. security systems
   Michael McGrath recently joined the sales team of N.A.S. security systems. McGrath was previously a 20-year member of the New York City Police Department. He will be evaluating and designing security and fire systems for N.A.S.

   Technology Center will host seminar on flow mapping
   The Hudson Valley Technology Development Center will conduct a seminar to teach the techniques of Value Stream Mapping. VSM is a tool used to create a picture of information flow within a company. The seminar will be held in the center's main office in Fishkill Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17. For more information, call 896-6934 ext. 3001.

   Kangas new marketing chief at Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel
   The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel recently announced the appointment of Maureen Kangas to director of marketing. Kangas was formerly associated with the Holiday Inn of Fishkill and has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

   Recovery Center awards set
   for two employees Sept. 12
   The Recovery Center of Sullivan County will be presenting two awards Sept. 12 at the Eagle's Nest Restaurant. Karen Cooke will receive the Outstanding Citizen award, and Patricia Kizlowski will receive the Employee of the Year award. For more information, contact Bonnie at 794-8080.

   Denise LaForgue is appointed Mothers of Twins reporter
   Denise LaForgue was appointed district reporter for the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs, during an annual convention in May. LaForgue has been a national volunteer for three years, serving as a representative for The Dutchess County Mothers of Multiples.

   Quackenbush completes seminar on appraisals
   William Quackenbush, a member of Advent Valuation Advisors, has completed a three-day seminar on advanced business appraisals, hosted by the Institute of Business Appraisers. Advent Valuation Advisors, which is located in Poughkeepsie and Newburgh, provides valuation services for litigation support, estate and tax and transaction support.

   Dennis Ketcham appointed as assessor in Wawayanda
   Dennis Ketcham has been appointed Town of Wawayanda assessor. His appointment was effective July 1. In addition, Ketcham is currently the assessor for the Town of Mount Hope and the Village of Otisville.
   
   Coldenham
   'Networking Night' event set for Graphic Arts Association
   The Mid-Hudson Graphic Arts Association will host a networking night Sept. 11 at the Spruce Lodge in Coldenham.    New Paltz
   Three win scholarships from Mid-Hudson Credit Union
   Amy Roosa has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship for SUNY Ulster from the Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. Roosa is pursuing an associate's degree in independent studies.
   Brittany Luiso of Wappingers Falls has been awarded a $500 scholarship for Dutchess Community College.
   Peter Parrotta also received a $500 scholarship from the Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. He attends SUNY Orange.

   Accountant Woody Levitan appointed to committee
   Woody Levitan, a certified public accountant and a partner in the firm of Levitan, Yegidis & Goldstein, has been appointed co-chair of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Mid-Hudson Chapter's Committee for Government Relations.
